The Olathe Chuck E. Cheese's opened on November 4, 2002<ref name="cep1" />, as the "second site for a Chuck E. Cheese in Johnson County from a demographic study ordered by CEC Entertainment, Inc....The study found the Olathe area had a potential market with young families and a lot of pizza-eating children. That provided enough food for thought to build a new store, which is 1,150 square feet with a seating capacity of 511 people".<ref name="cep1" />
