History
Leak
The TV show's plans would first leak on October 26th, 2024, after the Chuck E. And Friends! Audition Sheets and Chuck E. And Friends! Story Bible would be put online, presumably by an auditioner for a voice role. The bible would explain the entire show's premise, the plans for the Holiday Special set in Winter 2025, episode/specials ideas, and more. The audition sheets would also show direct parts of the Holiday Special script. The only credits listed would be of producers and writers, with it unclear who may pick up voice roles- or who would be animating the pilot. The limited selection of audition sheets also made early speculation assume that the current voice cast would be reprising roles outside of Pasqually and Bella. CEC Entertainment would never comment on the leak, and news outlets never picked up the story. [1][2]
Prerelease
On June 17th, 2025, the first press release for the show would feature on Variety. There the voice cast and additional producers would be revealed, mainly with Nathan Kress voicing Chuck E. Cheese. Pixel Zoo would also be confirmed as the animation studio on the project. [3] On July 29th, 2025, it would be spotted that several Amazon clothing listings featuring art from the pitch bible, alongside new art, were available for purchase.
On August 1, 2025, a small workprint of the special's opening would be shown within CEC corporate.
Ad Campaign
On October 3rd, 2025, a YouTube video titled "NEW. Pumpkins in My Pockets | Halloween Music Video | Chuck E. Cheese Kids Songs & Cartoons" would release showing an animated segment from the TV show production team. The video would shortly be taken down and re-uploaded for unknown reasons.[4] The video's outro would title the segment "Chuck E. Cheese Partymobile Sing-Along".[5] Later on in the day an email would be sent out advertising the short, explaining "In the very first digital short, the gang is warming up on the journey with a Chuck E. classic: "Pumpkins in My Pockets." Get ready for Halloween fun, sing-alongs, and maybe even a glimpse of something new about your favorite crew.", confirming that more exclusive digital shorts would be revealed up to the release of the pilot.
In mid-October, David McKillips would confirm that the Holiday Special would be releasing 'across streaming channels', alongside confirming more of who at CEC Entertainment was involved in the partnership and production.[6] On October 17th, the "NEW! The EASY Dance... Turned IMPOSSIBLE?! | Chuck E. Cheese Music & Dance Cartoon Videos for Kids" short would release.[7] October 26th would have a 12 second short featuring a song from the Holiday Special would release, alongside confirming the release date as November 27th.[8]
On October 29th it would be announced a special "Christmas Special Exclusive Watch Party" would be held at Chuck E. Cheese's.[9] Around this same time, the full complete special would be leaked online on a movie piracy website, though only later discovered on November 8th when a small portion was uploaded to YouTube.[10]
On November 3rd a full digital ad campaign inside stores for the special would commence. On November 6th more of which characters were being voiced by which VA's was revealed.[9] On November 7th the full trailer for the special would be uploaded, alongside a press kit.[11] A clip titled "Christmas Spirit Emergency | A Chuck E. Cheese Christmas | Streaming November 27" would release on November 14th alongside "Chuck E. Cheese Staring Contest" releasing in the Winter showtape.
On the 16th the staring contest video would air on YouTube. At the same time Zac Moncrief, Co-Director and Writer for the holiday special, would begin releasing daily posts counting down to the special with behind the scenes information.[12]
On the 18th the "What Would We Do Without Christmas" music video would release on YouTube from the special.[13][14] On the 19th the clip "Partymobile to the Rescue | A Chuck E. Cheese Christmas | Streaming November 27" would release. [14] The 20th would see the full Robot Banana song release on YouTube alongside an interview with Nathan Kress.[12][15]
On the morning of the 21st the entire special would be leaked onto YouTube in 360p quality from its original leak in October. An email would be sent to CEC's legal team regarding the leak and the video would be taken down only a few hours later.[12] The same day another clip, "Sneak Peek. Leggymos the Mischievous Elf | A Chuck E. Cheese Christmas | Streaming November 27" would release.
On the 22nd more streaming services would be announced to be hosting the special, including Kidoodle TV and HappyKids. Another Nathan Kress interview would also release. [12]
On the 23rd the watch day party would be set for all stores. Turnout ranged at each store from none to a few people. Stores did not plan anything around the watch party outside of the video playing automatically in the showroom, alongside employees not being scheduled to watch it themselves. For the release, it would be of an 11 minute segment of the middle of the special- almost exactly from where the workprint left off. The clip would be followed by a music video for the Robot Banana song.[16] The same day, the "Sneak Peek. Is Santa Claus Sick? | A Chuck E. Cheese Christmas | Streaming November 27" clip would release alongside all of the songs on Apple Music. [12]
On the 27th, the special would release in full on both Prime and YouTube in the early morning.[17]
Post Holiday Special
On December 5th the short "NEW. Jasper Challenges You to a Staring Contest | Chuck E. Cheese Fun Animated Cartoons for Kids" would release.[14] On the 14th a YouTooz plush of a Christmas Edition Holiday Special Chuck E. would be set for preorder, with a similar Bella plush revealed on the 19th[18]
On January 20th, 2026, Zac Moncrief would note the series still had not been greenlit.[17] On March 21st the shorts released on YouTube would be compiled on Amazon Prime under "Chuck E. Cheese Minisodes" [19]
Tiktok Resurgence
In mid July of 2026, a viral trend featuring a clip from the Holiday Special would start on TikTok. The earliest form of this came back on the release day of the special, with @basilofbakerstreet.com showing Chuck's initial reaction of disbelief to Munch's "Robot Banana" song with the caption 'HELP HE SOUNDS SO ANNOYED'.[20] This would later blow up alongside a similar clip from @tuxchuck, to which the comment sections would criticize the special for "forced realistic dialogue".[21] This would continue through multiple videos and comment sections being critical of both the special and the idea of a Chuck E. Cheese fandom existing. Eventually the term "realistic dialogue slop" would begin appearing across discussions, alongside a copypasta of Chuck's full reaction spammed in comments. [22][23]
