The Kooser Mopsey Sisters were an animatronic trio of anthropomorphic singing mops created by Fantasy Forest in 1978 for Pizza Time Theatre's second location at San Jose, CA (1371 Kooser Rd).

History

At Kooser

The Mopsey Sisters made their debut at the opening of Kooser on December 2nd, 1978. Serving as a replacement to the at this location, the Mopsey Sisters performed as back-up singers within the band. Little is known about the thought process behind why the Mopsey Sisters were created and used in place of the Warblettes at Kooser.

The October 1979 issue of Food Service Marketing mentions the Mopsey Sisters singing "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", a song also sung by the Warblettes on the {{> wiki-link "Pizza Time Theatre Showtape" <}}. Additionally, within that same year, the Sisters would make an appearance in a segment for the show, Real People, performing the song "Hooray for Hollywood."

Corporate Move

After being removed from the store in May of 1980, the Mopsey Sisters would be moved to Sunnyvale, CA (1213 Innsbruck Drive). At some point during this time, a photo would be taken of the bot.

Fate

Like the rest of the original {{> wiki-link "Kooser PTT Show" <}} cast, the Mopsey Sisters are considered lost. Following the vacating of Sunnyvale's corporate office building as a result of Pizza Time Theatre's bankruptcy in 1984, the bot's fate is unknown.

Aftermath

The Mopsey Sisters as characters were exclusive to the first few years of the Kooser store. Following their removal from the store, the Warblettes were brought back and resolidified as the backup vocals for the Pizza Time Players.

Movements

Functionally, the Mopsey Sisters are nearly identical to their successor, the Warblettes (Cyberamic), having the ability to sway side to side and open their mouths. However, unlike the Warblettes, each mouth seemingly was tied to its own signal.
