RAE Christmas '81 is a Rock-afire Explosion showtape released in ShowBiz Pizza Place locations in November 1981.No full rip of the showtape has ever surfaced however almost all the segments are found in HQ with the exception of the Billy Bob Plush skits which we only have recordings of.
Billy Bob Plush Skits:
Before the segments Catch a Wave,Unchained Medley and Why Can't Every Day Be Like Christmas,Rolfe,Earl and Billy Bob would discuss the brand new Billy Bob plush dolls. While there are full recordings of these 3 segments the high quality audio is not available anywhere, making the technically lost.
The Intro before Unchained Medley has Earl telling the audience they have a "very special announcement".However he doesn't actually know what this announcement is and neither does Rolfe. So Earl says they "have to ask Charlie",which is followed by a muffled, unintelligible voice, presumably of this Charlie character.Earl then ends the skit by saying they'll state the special announcement after the next show [1].
The intro before Catch a Wave then goes into how they have 'Billy Bob Dolls for sale up in the gift shop' then at the very end Earl says to Rolfe "Can you get me one for Christmas".[2]
The intro before Why Can't Every Day Be Like Christmas has Billy Bob tell the audience that "The boss" told him to do a little commercial for the new Billy Bob dolls in the gift shop, however he says that he dosen't wanna do it cause he's "kinda bashful about that stuff".So he ends the segment by saying he's not gonna do it.[3]
