Santa Claus (Jingle Bell Jamboree Animatronic) was an animatronic character built by Creative Engineering for the Jingle Bell Jamboree to be used at Santa's Village in Jefferson, New Hampshire).
History
Santa was installed in 1977 in Santa's Village (Jefferson, New Hampshire) by Creative Engineering for the first full show that they developed. [1] Santa would reside on stage left with his curtain being open throughout the whole show.
Santa would stay mostly unchanged over the years with the exception of general wear and tear such as his mask sagging on the sides,his hair and eyebrows being removed and his belt being lifted up over his belly in photos from august of 1989
In 2003 [2] the show would receive a complete refurbishment.Santa would recive a new beard,hair and mustache that looked more cheap and reflective.His original Red gloves were also replaced with a set of black and red tartan gloves.
In 2006, the original Creative Engineering animatronics would be removed and replaced by ones created by Advanced Animations ,but the showtape wasn't replaced.[3]
The original Creative Engineering bots would be placed into the park's storage and left there for many years.Eventually the masks of the figures started melting and dripping onto the cosmetics.To avoid ruining the cosmetics,park employees would remove all the figures heads and put them off to the side.The figures are allegedly still in storage headless. Design
Santa Claus is of course dressed in his classic red suit with puffy white fringes,black boots,black belt,red gloves and the iconic red and white santa hat.He has blue eyes,rosy red cheeks and sits in a wooden rocking chair.
