Valencia, CA (23154 Valencia Blvd) was a Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza location that opened on April 26th, 1983 as a Pizza Time Theatre with a Balcony Stage, and closed as a Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza with an unknown stage in February 1996 (day unknown).
History
Valencia opened on April 26, 1983, as a Pizza Time Theatre with a Balcony Stage.[1] It was a franchised location, and was locally owned and operated.[2] Unfortunately, very little documentation exists on this location. Due to it's location next to a Kmart location, it is rumored the building was originally a Kmart Foods store, but though this remains unconfirmed.[3] In 1989, the store would be remodeled as part of the SPT 1980's Remodel Program, with the Balcony Stage being replaced by a Chuck E.'s House Facade. The Pizza Time Theatre name would be retained.[4]
1990's
In August 1994, the C Stage would begin to be removed for a new stage, though the removal process was done unusually, with parts of the Balcony Stage being exposed in the process.[5] A few days after the footage was taken, the stage would be removed. Due to a lack of documentation during this period, it is not clear if the store received a 1-Stage or a 2-Stage. It is also unclear if the store received Phase 1 (1994) around this time.
Closure
In February 1996, the location would close down, with it's equipment, including the animatronics, being auctioned off on the 17th of that month.[6] The location would later become a HomeTown Buffet.[7] The store remained vacant for many years until it became a Dress on a Dime clothing store recently.[8]
In 1998, Chuck E. Cheese would return to the city, opening a new location at Valencia, CA (25955 North The Old Rd) on March 4 of that year.
