Winchester Jasper T. Jowls was an animatronic created by Fantasy Forest for the Pizza Time Theatre on San Jose, CA (370 S Winchester Blvd) as an animatronic version of Jasper T Jowls, with the bot being the first design of Jasper. The bot was controlled & programmed through the Winchester Control System & Winchester Hardware Setup. The bot was used at Winchester from 1977 until its replacement in 1981 when Winchester received Cyberamics.

History

Creation

The Winchester Jasper Bot was created by Harold Goldbrandsen of Fantasy Forest in early 1977 after the Winchester Crusty the Cat V1 (Animatronic) & Winchester Chuck E. Cheese V1 (Animatronic).

Release

San Jose, California (370 South Winchester Boulevard)

In May 1977, The Bot was installed at the Right dining area wall at Winchester(1)(2). The bot was programmed to the Pizza Time Theatre Showtape & later, the Helen Henny Showtape. The bot was later programmed to the Madame Oink I & Foxy Colleen I Showtapes during 1978.

Corporate Move

After Pizza Time Theatre vacated the Sunnyvale building in 1984, Jasper, along with Winchester's Winchester Chuck E. Cheese V2 (Animatronic) and Winchester Pasqually (Animatronic) would be rescued by Jul Kamen. Jul would end up loaning all three portrait bots to the ShowBiz Pizza Time Corporate Office in the mid 1990's to display in a museum dedicated to the history of Chuck E. Cheese's. The museum plans would never go through, and the animatronics would simply be used as display pieces. At some point, Jasper's shirt was replaced with a green and white striped sweatshirt and his muzzle had extra dots added.

Destruction

In 2004, Corporate would undergo a remodel and the portrait bots would be removed from their spot on the wall. The animatronics were ordered destroyed as part of CEC's strict 'de-identification' policy. While Chuck E. was saved by employees, Jasper and Pasqually were destroyed. The person who destroyed them is unknown.

Design

Base

The bot had a brown latex mask, black fur ears, a white fur snout with brown dots on each side, black & white eyes, black eyelashes, brown eyelids, & brown latex hands. The bot later had its mask & hands repainted.

Outfit

Location outfit

The bot had a red & white patterned button-up cowboy shirt, light blue Big-Smith overalls, a navy blue & white polka-dotted bandana, and a straw country hat. The bot's hat formerly had a black feather on it, along with a bee, yet both were removed before 1979.

SPT Outfit

During the bot's time at the SPT HQ, it had a green & white striped sweatshirt, a blue bandana, light blue overalls, & a straw country hat with black & white band.[1]

Accessories

The bot had a brown & white banjo, which had a bee attached to the end of one of its strings.
